Good, Bad and Ugly

Baroness Wheatcroft, the anti-Brexit, anti-democracy peer sees fit to spout her venom again. Rees-Mogg is apparently going to kill the Conservative party off, if he ever gets elected as leader. Never mind that this WON’T happen during this current term of office. Never mind that it is SHE who is one of many denying democracy, via the Conservatives, of 18M voters. Never mind that she is too old and senile to see it is her that is the problem here. No, the next possible leader of the Conservatives will ‘kill’ the party off. Well, good luck dear, we fully expect you to be quietly taken away soon – enjoy your retirement. And by that we mean a proper retirement, NOT dozing off in the House of Lords whenever you deem it necessary to attend. Please leave politics to those that are elected.

Excellent news again this week by another report stating that a daily dose of wine or beer can help reduce the chance of cardiovascular disease. (This one’s from China, via USA research). Cheers!

As an aside to the above, ever wondered why veggies and vegans look so unhealthy? Well, apparently the answer is that they don’t eat meat, and therefore do not ingest the necessary vitamins and nutrients that normal people do. Now. where’s my steak and chips, and a nice Sauvignon to accompany it.

As for the EU, it is becoming increasingly obvious that they are NOT listening. We proposed a perfectly reasonable deal concerning EU citizens in the UK, and Brits abroad. We proposed a perfectly reasonable deal on the Customs Union. We have proposed a perfectly reasonable deal on the Irish border issue. And the response – Fantasy, ridiculous, ‘you cannot be serious’. The ONLY answer is obvious – just walk away from the talks, and take all OUR goodies with us. Trade under WTO rules, and the extra money our importers get is distributed to our exporters to cover the increased costs. As for all the rest, when the EU wants to talk seriously, we’ll do it on an item by item basis. Trust us they’ll come crawling back for talks a lot sooner than we will. By the way, all this assumes there is an EU to talk with – the way things are going with the propped-up euro, squabbling amongst nations, sky-high youth unemployment, and the immigrant problems, the EU does NOT look like the most stable of institutions at the moment.

The other major item we deliberately didn’t mention in the above article is the ECB (The European Central Bank) which is the central bank for the euro and administers the monetary policy of the eurozone. Such is the power of this institution, that they can basically do what they want with the Euro. We now know that over the past 18 months, the ECB has seen fit to use a mechanism called ‘quantative easing’. For the uninitiated out there this means PRINTING MONEY with absolutely nothing to back up the process. Currently this to the tune of £1.8 TRILLION! If any other country or federation had done this (apart from possibly the USA), that currency would be worth precisely zero. Such is the set-up with the Euro, of course, that this won’t happen; the protected interests of the elite people and countries will ensure that. But, bubbles do burst eventually. As soon as George Soros stops investing, the Euro will be no more – it is only a matter of time.
